Our Services
High Point Speech Therapy provides screenings, evaluations, and speech therapy treatment sessions for the following areas:
Delayed Speech & Language
Every Child Develops at their own pace, but there are key milestones that help us understand when extra support and language therapy can make a meaningful difference in building strong communication skills from the start.
Fluency & Stuttering
It is common for young children to go through periods where their speech is not perfectly smooth as they are learning to talk. However, when these disruptions persist or become more noticeable, it may be a sign of a fluency disorder such as stuttering.
Receptive Language
Receptive language is how a child understands and makes sense of spoked language. When these skills are delayed, it can impact a child’s ability to follow directions, engage in learning, and participate in everyday interactions.
Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)
If your child is hard to understand or seems to struggle to get words out, it may be more than a typical speech delay. Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) affects how the brain plans and coordinates the movements needed for speech.
Articulation & Phonology
It’s common for young children to mispronounce words as they learn to talk, but some speech sound errors can continue beyond typical developmental stages. When this happens, speech therapy can help improve clarity and confidence in communication.
Expressive Language
Expressive Language is how a child shares thoughts, needs, and ideas with others. When children struggle to express themselves clearly, it can impact everything from play and learning to social connection.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ACC)
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) provides additional ways for individuals to communicate when spoken language is difficult or limited. AAC can help children express their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings while building confidence and connection with others.
Our team is here to support your child and help them build confidence through communication.
